Quick Tip: Easy Cleaning for Blenders or Food Processors
Here’s a genius tip for easy clean-up of a blender or food processor after use.
Sure, you can put all its parts in the dishwasher, but sometimes you’ll need to use it again before running a cycle. Besides, those sharp blades pointing in all directions are easy to miss until they unexpectedly slice your fingers when unloading the dishwasher later.
That same risk applies when washing up by hand: I’ve gotten more nicks on my fingers than I care to admit from trying to wash those blades.
But those days are over, thanks to this great idea from my dad. After you’ve used the blender/food processor, give it a good rinse to get rid of any big chunks stuck to the sides, then fill it about one-third full with water and a good squirt of dish soap.
Turn it on, let it run, and the appliance will clean itself with a swirling, frothy, soapy mixture.
Give the components another good rinse and set aside to dry.
Great idea. I’ll start cleaning my Ninja this way today. Thanks for the tip!
